Kuta was one of the first places in Bali, Indonesia, that I visited as a teenager, growing up and living in the capital, Jakarta. I was enchanted by Kuta, where for the first time, I encountered so many cosmopolitan (in my teenage eyes) citizens of various countries from around the world. The beach-side town was bustling with a vibrant nightlife, which was enticing for a young girl just coming of age. I remember dancing with my friends, who were also my band-mates (I was in an all-girl band, dubbed the Indonesian Spice Girls), until the wee hours of the morning, enjoying life to the fullest. Kuta gave me the travel bug, which stayed with me to this day. I am forever grateful to that beautiful seaside town on the southern coast of Bali.
